President Klaus Iohannis decorated, in a ceremony held at the Cotroceni Palace, several civil personalities on the occasion of Romania's National Day. The chief of state awarded the National Order "Faithful Service" in the rank of Knight to Dr. Eng. Valentin Silivestru, General Director of COMOTI – Romanian Research&Development Institute for Gas Turbines. 

This top distinction confirms and rewards the exceptional managerial and leadership qualities of Dr. Eng. Valentin Silivestru, who, in the 20 years since he has been leading the institute, has raised it to the level of excellence in national and international research.

COMOTI is currently one of the best performing Institutes in Romania and the only specialized unit in the country that integrates scientific research, design, production, experimentation, testing, technology transfer and innovation activities in the field of aviation turboengines, industrial gas turbine engines and high-speed bladed machines.
