The Council of European Aerospace Societies (CEAS) is an international association of experts, aiming to develop a framework for collaboration among the most representative aerospace societies in Europe. In 1995, the CEAS established the Aeroacoustics Specialists Committee to serve and support the scientific and industrial aeroacoustics community in Europe. Aeroacoustics is considered to encompass aerospace acoustics and related fields. The main objective of the project was to organise in Romania, by the National Research and Development Institute for Gas Turbines COMOTI, as a member of CEAS, of the event 25th Workshop of the Aeroacoustics Specialists’ Committee of the CEAS, with the theme AIRFRAME NOISE REDUCTION – Needs, Challenges & Opportunities.

The specific objectives of the event were:
• To strengthen the research sector in aviation in Romania;
• To support the development of genuine scientific collaboration between Romanian and foreign scientists;
• To facilitate the gathering of institutional actors from across Europe involved in reducing the noise impact of the aeronautical industry;
• To promote the alignment of national visions with European and international policies for research, development, and innovation.
The event was attended by 42 participants, representing 23 institutions from 9 countries (France, United Kingdom, Hungary, Romania, Netherlands, Ireland, Germany, Belgium, Italy, and Japan). Details of the event: https://comoti.ro/airframe-noise-reduction/
