• Compression of methane gas in natural gas extraction schemes;

Application
There is currently a GTC-1000 turbocharger group located in Schela Ţicleni Tg. Jiu which compresses the natural gas resulting from the extraction of crude oil from the well fields to supply them to the desalination plants and / or high-pressure compressors for the gas lift process used in the extraction or delivery wells in the national bus.

CONFIGURATION OF THE GTC-1000 TURBOCOMPRESSOR GROUP

The turbocharger consists of the following subassemblies:
• Air suction cell with filter cartridges with 25-50μm filtration;
• Turbocompressor group cell;
• Noise silencer;
• Power Group;
• couplings;
• Gaseous compression system consisting of two intermediate cooling relays;
• Oil system comprising:
- lubricating oil system;
- dam oil system;
- sealing gas system.
• Combustion and starting gas system:
- Fire protection system;
- Automation installation with the following functions:
* turning on and off the group automatically;
* adjusting the operating mode of the group while keeping it at the prescribed parameters;
* group protection in the case of exceeding the normal values of the parameters;
* regulating gas compressors through anti-pump system;
* display the main group supervision parameters.
• Data acquisition system that tracks computer technology over the entire compression station.

Natural gas compression is performed with intermediate cooling, between compressors, which leads to a substantial reduction in power consumed in the process.
Optional
The turbocharger can be used together with a recuperator boiler located on the combustion gas exhaust in a cogeneration configuration for the production of industrial steam or hot water, saving large amounts of energy.
In this configuration, ISO performance is:
• Mechanical power at 690 Kw
• Exhaust gas temperature 505 oC
• Flue gas flow 5.2 kg / s
• Fuel consumption 0.090 Nmc / s
• Total energy injected into the group (at PC of 36,830 KJ / Nmc) 3,344 kWh / h
• Flow rate of saturated steam supplied 2.7 t / h
• Global thermal efficiency 85.5%
The group was set up in 1993 and has so far ensured the pumping of more than 500 million Nmc of gas, totaling more than 65,000 hours of operation, ensuring at that time the restoration of the pumping capacity of the station and bringing important advantages characteristic of the use of pumping groups, using as a source of engine power with a gas turbine and as compressor centrifugal compressor equipment

• Reduced service and maintenance costs resulting from low staff and low cost of spare parts in relation to resources between repairs;
• Optionally, a recirculating boiler for the production of industrial steam or hot water can be required on the flue gas outlet, which considerably increases the thermal efficiency of the plant.

DEVELOPMENT OF THE GTC-1000 TURBOCOMPRESSOR GROUP:
The possibility of developing the GTC-1000 turbocharger is now being considered by re-equipping with a highly improved Pr18 & Whitney ST18 turbine engine. With this retrofitting, the performance of the turbocharger group improves dramatically.
